WELCOME TO OUR TEA  SHOP - OVER 150 VARIETIES OF LOOSE LEAF TEAS.

Tea was first tasted in China in about 350 BC.  The Emperor of China had some leaves blow into his cup of hot water, or so the story goes.  The Chinese spread the word about tea and developed a sophisticated market for it throughout Asia .  Europeans heard about tea when Portuguese priests spreading Roman Catholicism through China taste tea and write about its medicinal and taste benefits, and in the 1600s the Dutch bring back green tea from Japan (although some argue it was from China ).
The Dutch East India Company was born to market tea all over
Europe tea as an exotic medicinal drink, but it was so expensive only the aristocracy could afford the tea and its serving pieces.
Our tea shop has over 125 varieties of loose-leaf teas from around the world.  Teas such as Taylor's Yorkshire Gold, or selections of Irish and Scottish blends for a great "cuppa".  In addition there is a lovely selection of English bone china tea pots and accessories as well as a great assortment of recipe books, tea towels and other gifts from the UK.

You will find the right gift in our tea shop for the tea lover or even for yourself !
